For more than 15 years, Edward Myers & Associates, Inc., has been providing investigation and risk-assessment consulting services. Based in Studio City, the firm has served more than 50 television networks, along with numerous Fortune 500 companies in the aerospace and manufacturing industries. Throughout its history, Edward Myers & Associates, Inc., has maintained membership with such organizations as the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) was established in 1992 with the goal of protecting victims of harassment, stalking, and threat situations. Each year, the organization’s membership grows thanks to its many benefits, including educational opportunities, professional networking, and career growth. However, membership is reserved for certain individuals.
In order to join the ATAP, applicants must include threat or violence risk assessment as part of their occupation. Those who publish or conduct research involving such assessment, offer psychological or psychiatric services relating to threat and violence risk, or provide legal counsel or services to individuals and entities who have been a victim of such violence may also be eligible.
Beyond meeting these requirements for work, applicants must also be sponsored by at least one ATAP member in good standing. Additionally, members are expected to attend at least one of their local chapter’s membership meetings during the calendar year that they apply, unless they are accepted to the organization after April 1st.
To join, eligible members must download and complete the ATAP application, then send it to the organization via either postal mail or email. All annual dues must be included with the application.
